DENVER -- In an effort to launch a citywide conversation about placemaking and city-building, Denver’s Department of Community Planning and Development is asking city residents, “What’s your favorite place in Denver? And, more importantly, why?”
Respond to that question by posting a photo on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #favoriteplacedenver or by posting a photo directly to the department's Facebook page.
“We just want to hear what people are thinking about the Queen City of the Plains!” says Andrea Burns with the Planning Department. “There is no effort to develop any ‘top-ten’ list per se, we just want to have some thoughts for our planners and developers as they continue to make rules and regulations going forward.”
From Red Rocks and the bison heard on the west, to LoDo and the the Performing Arts Complex in downtown, to the Richthofen Castle on the city’s east side, Denver is a city of many different neighborhoods and all have something neat about them. That is what planners hope to learn with this social media study.
Below is a real-time look at all the photos that have been posted.
