SUPERIOR, Colo. — A house fire in the 300 block of South Third Street in Superior killed a pair of dogs Sunday, Boulder County officials reported.

By the time firefighters arrived about 12:15 p.m., a duplex was fully involved, officials said. Due to the hot weather and intense fire, nearly a dozen emergency agencies responded.

No one was injured in the fire, but two dogs were confirmed dead. One cat was also missing.

The cause and origin of the fire was under investigation.
