LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — Homemade explosives were used to destroy mailboxes during the weekend in Larimer County.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office says one report indicated the device used was made of firecrackers wrapped in duct tape.

“It appears the explosions occurred shortly after being placed in the mailboxes and there is no indication these incidents were intended as ‘booby traps’ to harm anyone,” a sheriff’s office statement said Tuesday.

The explosions happened during the overnight hours Saturday and Sunday in the following areas of Larimer County:

  • 8500 block of South County Road 13
  • 5600 block of Squires Place
  • 900 block of North County Road 5

Nobody was hurt.
