RENTON, Wash. — An outraged woman allegedly set her husband on fire when she found out he had sexually assaulted her 7-year-old daughter.

According to KOMO-TV, Vincent Phillips, 52, was doused on gasoline on July 17 while he slept in bed.

His wife, Tatanysha Hedman, 40, then set him on fire, said Renton police.

Phillips left the apartment and drove to a nearby convenience store. Surveillance cameras recorded him coming through the store’s doors screaming “I’m on fire!”

Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment of severe burns.

Hedman told police she set her husband on fire because he had assaulted her daughter, who is Phillips stepdaughter.

Hedman said she did it because shooting him was “too nice.”

She now faces assault and arson charges. Phillips faces a charge of first-degree child molestation.
