Boulder’s Justin Daerr wins Ironman Boulder

BOULDER, Colo. -- Boulder resident Justin Daerr won the first Ironman Boulder on Sunday, while Danielle Kehoe of Denver was the first female to finish.

Daerr finished the 140.6-mile course in an unofficial 8 hours, 20 minutes and 56 seconds, according to the Daily Camera. The course included a 26.2-mile run, a 2.4-mile swim at Boulder Reservoir and a 112-mile bike ride through Boulder, Larimer, Weld and Broomfield counties.

Kehoe finished in 9:19:54 unofficially. Boulder resident Laura Bennett came in second.

Another Boulder resident, Richie Cunningham, finished second in the men's race.
