Blogger says he was fired for ‘promoting a gay agenda’ after writing about homophones
PROVO, Utah — Tim Torkildson is the social-media specialist for a private English language learning center in Utah.
Well, he was the social-media specialist for the Nomen Global Language Centers.
Torkildson wrote a blog on the center’s website explaining homophones, the words that sound the same but have different means and usually different spellings.
Torkildson writes that after posting the piece, his boss and NGLC owner Clarke Woodger called him into his office and fired him
“I’m letting you go because I can’t trust you,” Torkildson writes what Woodger told him. “This blog about homophones was the last straw. Now our school is going to be associated with homosexuality.”
The blog item has been removed from the NGLC website.AlertMe
