NEW YORK — Police in Times Square found themselves in the unenviable position of trying to take down a superhero this weekend when a man dressed as Spider-man allegedly assaulted an officer.

The incident began when Junior Bishop, 25, allegedly demanded that a woman who took his picture pay him $5. When she refused, he allegedly touched her, prompting a police response, the AP reported.

Bishop allegedly told police to leave him alone and refused to provide ID. An officer grabbed him, and Bishop reportedly fought back, punching one officer and outwrestling the other for half a minute before finally being taken to the ground.
