DENVER — A woman was arrested Sunday afternoon when she allegedly brandished a gun and fought with police, the Denver Police Department reported.

Jana Beergman, 32, was allegedly seen walking around with a gun on the street near 11100 East Dartmouth Ave. When police contacted her, she became combative and then tried to resist arrest, DPD said.

Police called  for backup, and Beergman was restrained. There were no shots fired, police said. The suspect was not badly hurt, but was hospitalized for observation.

Beergman faces a firearm charge, as well as a count of possession of a controlled substance, DPD said.
