PARKER, Colo. -- Residents in a Parker neighborhood protested power line plans Tuesday night. They're fighting a proposal to build new power line towers in their area.

The proposal calls for new power lines from Castle Pines to Brush, but it's the folks in Parker who are concerned.

Justin Joseph explains in his video report why some think there should be a better way.

These will be the same idiots that complain when there isn’t any power capacity in a few years. It’s the utilities right of way and these current lines predate the housing. Maybe dont buy next to powerlines if you worry about property value

They can bury them and there are other options per Excel and these lines are not to benefit Parker….but a lot of intelligent comments.

^ Have they developed improved insulation which would allow burial of such high voltage lines?
What about heat dissipation of high power high voltage lines?

They can bury power lines and it nullifies the health concerns, however it is costly. Much cheaper to give parker residents brain cancer and have them foot the medical bills.
