Motorcycle rider killed in crash in Aurora
AURORA, Colo. — A car versus motorcycle crash killed the man riding the motorcycle Monday evening.
Police say a car turned in front of a motorcycle that was heading west on Mississippi Avenue just East of Peoria Street in Aurora at about 6:45 p.m.
The car was turning left into an entrance at the shopping center at Mississippi and Quentin Street when the motorcycle hit it broadside. Police believe the motorcycle was going about 40 mph.
The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
The driver of the car remained at the scene of the crash. Police say they do not suspect alcohol or excessive speed played a role in the crash.
Police expected westbound Mississippi to be closed between South Troy and Peoria streets to be closed until after 10 p.m. for the investigation.AlertMe
