Boy reunited with father after being abducted for 8 years

McKINNEY, Tex. — A 10-year-old boy was reunited with the father he hasn’t see in 8 years after he was abducted by his mother and taken to India.

KDFW-TV reported Drew Dees was taken in December 2006 after his father and mother divorced.

The mother, Padmashini Devi Drees, 38, allegedly took the boy to India.

Investigators monitored her location with the assistance of INTERPOL, the Department of State, United States Customs and other agencies.

The mother recently decided to return to the U.S. and was arrested at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. She faces a charge of interference with child custody.

The father and son were reunited at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Family Advocacy Division.
