Boat explosion injures three at Cherry Creek Marina

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — A boat explosion hurt three people at the Cherry Creek Marina Sunday morning, South Metro Fire Rescue Authority reported.

The explosion was reported about 11 a.m. at 4800 S. Dayton St., firefighters said. The victims were all hospitalized with first- and second-degree burns and were expected to recover.

The explosion did not cause a long-lasting fire, firefighters said.  Investigators were still working to determine the cause of the explosion.

Cherry Creek Marina is located inside Cherry Creek State Park.
