DENVER -- Everything was in place:  a beautiful day, passionate fans, a lead.

Everything in place, but ultimately a loss for Mexico and its fans, 2-0, to the Netherlands in the latest round of World Cup play.  Netherlands now advances to the Quarterfinals.

Over at Zocalo Bar, at 11th & Broadway, the place was packed with people sporting red, white…and green.

Carmen Alvarez brought her 3 kids, decked out in red, Mexican Team T-shirts.  While her team lost, she feels worldwide, soccer, itself is winning over new fans.

The U.S. plays Belgium, Tuesday afternoon.
