JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Two people were swept down the South Platte River Sunday afternoon during a swift water rescue exercise.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mark Techmeyer said a group called the Renaissance Adventure Guides was conducting a swift water rescue exercise along the South Platte River in Roxborough State Park Sunday afternoon when two participants fell into the waters.

The call for the incident came in around 3:40 p.m.

By the time rescue crews arrived on scene, the two individuals were already out of the river. Techmeyer said crews were unsure if the individuals were pulled out of the waters or manged to get themselves out.
