BOULDER, Colo. -- If you're like most people, the day hasn't started until you've had that first cup of coffee.

Colorado has many fantastic coffee roasters, but there's one you might want to keep an eye out for.

Gerry Leary owns and operates The Unseen Bean in Boulder.

He roasts all of the coffee he sells and his customers absolutely love it.

Gerry is blind... has been all of his life.

Yet he's a master of his craft. He relies on sound and smell to roast awesome coffee.

Hema Mullur introduces you to Gerry in her video report.

What an inspiration! My daughter was a micropreemie, born at 18 ounces and suffered from ROP – retinopathy of prematurity, too. Thankfully medical care has advanced enough to have kept her from being blind – thanks to laser surgery when she was 3 pounds. I always feel so badly for those preemies who came before her that couldn’t benefit from the treatments (and before it, cyrotherapy).

    Thanks for a great story!
