KEYSTONE, Colo. — The epic snow that fell in the mountains this season will continue to pay dividends for Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, which announced Friday it will extend its season into summer and open two additional weekends: June 13-15 and June 20-22.

The resort previously announced it would be open on weekends through June 8 after more than 440 inches of snow fell there this season, including 47 inches in May.

The Black Mountain Express and Lenawee Mountain lifts will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the extended season.

A-Basin doesn’t know if it can push the season to July 4. It has done so five previous times: 2011, 1997, 1996, 1995 and 1993. The latest A-Basin has stayed open was Aug. 10, 1995.
