Westbound I-270 reopens at Vasquez after vehicle rams into back of CDOT truck

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- Westbound Interstate 270 was closed for nearly four hours Tuesday morning after a car rammed into the back of a Colorado Department of Transportation truck, officials said.

The highway was closed at Vasquez Boulevard after the accident, which happened about 3:30 a.m. CDOT said about 5 a.m. that I-270 will be closed for "another hour or two."

The highway was reopened just before 7:30 a.m.

CDOT says none of its workers was injured, but the driver of the car was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
