Coroner IDs victim shot in Denver hotel parking lot

Denver Police were investigating after a man was shot in the parking lot of a Quality Inn in Denver and later died at Children's Hospital on Monday, May 19, 2014.

DENVER — The name of the man who died after a shooting in the parking lot of a Denver hotel was released Tuesday afternoon.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner identified the victim in the Monday morning shooting as 44-year-old Denver resident Marcus Anthony Armstrong, also known as “Romero.”

The manner of death was determined to be homicide.

Armstrong was shot in the parking lot of the Quality Inn located at 3974 Peoria Way, which is just off of Interstate 70.

A woman was also injured during the incident, but not from a gun wound.

Police said the victims drove to Children’s Hospital in Aurora, where Armstrong was pronounced dead.
