LOVELAND, Colo. -- A 10-year-old boy escaped an attempted abduction Saturday afternoon by hitting his attacker with a stick, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The boy was playing at a playground in the Campion area about 3 p.m., when a strange man grabbed him, police said. The boy told police he hit the man with a stick and escaped to a neighbor’s house, LCSO said.

The child was not seriously hurt.

The boy described his attacker as an adult male standing about six feet tall with a medium build. He wore dark clothes and a black mask, the boy reported.

The Sheriff's Office asked anyone with information in the case to call police.
