One killed in head-on crash in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. -- One person was killed in a head-on crash Friday morning, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The accident happened on South Gun Road just north of Hampden Avenue about 6:15 a.m.

CSP says a white Dodge truck traveling southbound crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a gray Mitsubishi sedan. The driver of the sedan died at the scene.

The driver of the truck was taken to Aurora South Hospital with unknown injuries. Neither driver was identified.

Gun Club Road is closed as the crash is investigated and cleared.
