BRAMPTON, Ontario — Some 60 police cars, including tactical teams and K-9 units, responded to a massive house party at a half-finished mansion in Canada Friday night.

What made police suspicious? The party trended on social media under the hashtag #mansionparty.

Officers arrived to discover more than 2,000 young people perched on unfinished staircases, filling half-carpeted rooms and more. In all, more than $70,000 worth of damage was reported.

One attendee, Nick, 16,  told The Record that there was a line of cars, including a fully packed tour bus, waiting to get into the party.

“I have seen something like this in the movies, but never in real life,” he said

Reached for a comment, the mother of the 17-year-old host was nearly speechless.

“I told my son he could have some friends over,” she said.
