DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Two BASE jumpers set a world record after jumping off a platform 500 feet above the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.

It had been done before, but to ensure the world record, Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet added a platform on top of the building’s spire — for a total of 2,717 feet.

The jumps were captured on tape and the red smoke added to the visual.
