ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The long-awaited NFL schedule will be released Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The 32 teams’ preseason schedule was announced earlier this month, but now all 256 regular-season games will be unveiled.

The teams have known the opponents since the end of the last regular season, based on a pre-determined rotation that has been in place since 2002.

The Broncos are expected to play in the league maximum of five prime time games — Thursday night, Sunday night, Monday night — after winning the AFC title last season and playing in Super Bowl XLVIII.

The Broncos, who have won the past three AFC West titles, will play eight home games and eight road games. The highlights, besides home-and-road games against the three other AFC West teams, include home games against the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers, and road games against the New England Patriots and a Super Bowl rematch at Seattle.

Their opponents:

Home: Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers.

Road: Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Seattle Seahawks, St. Louis Rams

The Broncos’ preseason schedule was previously announced:

Aug. 7-10: vs. Seattle Seahawks

Aug. 14-18: at San Francisco 49ers

Aug. 21-24: vs. Houston Texans

Aug. 28: at Dallas Cowboys

The exact dates (other than the Aug. 28 game) and times will be finalized later.
