CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. -- Search and rescue crews will resume their hunt for two missing Minnesota hikers in the Echo Lake area are the base of Mount Evans on Wednesday.

The father and son, Damian McManus and Evan McManus of St. Louis Park, Minn., went missing a week ago. Fifty searchers from nine search and rescue teams plowed through more than 3 feet of snow searching for the men the past three days.

Searchers on Tuesday worked in an area southeast, south and southwest of the Echo Lake Campground based on cellphone information. The Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office said the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center’s electronics investigation team was able to determine the men's cellphones were "active" until 3 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. April 2 south of the campground.

The Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office said the search was slowed by deep snow and thick timber. Good weather is in the forecast for Wednesday's search.

Damian McManus, 51, and Evan McManus, 19, were on a spring break trip when they didn't return from a hike on April 2. They were last spotted at a Lakewood restaurant on the morning of April 2 based on a credit card transaction and their SUV was found in the Echo Lake Campground parking lot.

Evan McManus was a senior soccer player at Saint Louis Park High School and Damian McManus served in the British Army.

Family members are in Colorado as the search continues, including Catherine McManus, Damian's wife and Evan's mother, and Lauren McManus, Evan's twin sister.

I am very sad about this situation of the lost dad and son. Mom must be in a horrible state of worry. All family members I am thinking about.
