DENVER — A rematch of Super Bowl XLVIII opens the Denver Broncos preseason scheduled, the team announced Wednesday.

The impending preseason matchup with the Seattle Seahawks is also unique because the Broncos will be playing them during the regular season, as well. The Broncos will also face the 49ers in both pre and regular season games.

That’s unusual in the NFL, as teams typically prefer not to face regular season opponents in the preseason, as they don’t want to tip their hand to an opponent they may face later in a more meaningful contest.

The game against San Francisco will also be the first in the 49ers’ new venue, the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

The Broncos will round out their preseason schedule with two teams from Texas — the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys. The exact dates and/or times of all four games are yet to be announced.

Below is the schedule in its entirety.

  • Week 1: vs. Seattle Seahawks — Aug. 7-10, time TBD
  • Week 2: at San Francisco 49ers — Aug. 14-18, time TBD
  • Week 3: vs. Houston Texans — Aug. 21-24, time TBD
  • Week 4: at Dallas Cowboys — Aug. 28, time TBD
