Police arrest son of victim in Lakewood homicide investigation

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Police arrested a 41-year-old man Friday evening in connection with a Lakewood homicide investigation.

According to the Lakewood Police Department, officers found the body of Bernice Medina Friday in the 1300 block of Everett Court in Lakewood.

At approximately 9 p.m. Friday, investigators arrived at a residence in the 1300 block of King Street with the intent to contact a family member, said police. Investigators found 41-year-old Timothy Baca at the home, who is the son of Medina, and arrested him.

A spokesperson from LPD said Baca is currently in police custody on a charge of first-degree murder.
