DENVER -- A Colorado man who had hoped to represent Jefferson County in the state legislature is withdrawing from a Republican primary after controversial comments surfaced on a white supremacist website.

Nate Marshall officially withdrew from the race after the Jefferson County Republican Party demanded his resignation as a candidate.

FOX31 Denver's Mark Meredith spoke with Marshall as that decision was made. The 43-year-old is hoping to avoid the spotlight now that he's exited the race.
