LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Two men were arrested on murder charges this week in connection with a dead man discovered in a Lakewood home on Saturday, the Lakewood Police Department said.

A concerned citizen in the 1500 block of Depew Street knocked on his neighbor’s door about 9:30 a.m. Saturday, LPD said. Upon peering through a window, the citizen saw a man laying dead on the floor.

As the investigation progressed, detectives felt that the elderly male victim died as the result of a homicide. Further investigation led detectives to two young men, whom they arrested.

James Dominguez-Castor, 22, and Stephvon Atencio, 20, both face first degree murder charges. They are believed to be acquaintances of the victim.

The dead man’s name was not released, pending notification of his family.
