Students lobby principal on Twitter to give them snow day
ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Students at a St. Louis high school lobbied their school’s principal to give them a snow day Monday using Twitter.
According to KTVI-TV, the students at St. John Vianney High School posted tweets on Sunday for the snow day on Monday.
Many schools in the area decided to cancel class after a snow storm left sleet, snow and bitter cold. The Missouri Department of Transpiration issued a travel advisory over the weekend.
According to a release from the school Principal Tim Dilg considered the students campaign on Sunday night. He rewarded the students with an automated call at 6am on Monday.
The school said it cancelled classes because of the weather, not the students’ tweets.AlertMe
