AURORA, Colo. — A nasty rollover wreck on I-225 in Aurora was slowing northbound traffic near South Parker Road on Tuesday morning, however, the good news was that the driver appeared to have escaped major injury.

The wreck was first spotted shortly after 6 a.m. It appeared an SUV rolled and went through the temporary barriers put in place due to construction on I-225. The vehicle remained on its side against one of the barriers when emergency crews arrived.

The driver of the vehicle could be spotted shortly after the accident sitting on the windowsill of the rolled SUV, speaking on the phone. While it appeared the man was fine, he was loaded into an ambulance when emergency crews arrived shortly before 7 a.m.

Traffic was heavy in the area while crews dealt with the wreck, but once the ambulance pulled away shortly after 7 a.m., and just one lane was partially blocked as crews worked to clear the scene.

However, morning commuters were being advised to avoid the area if possible. Taking East Hampden Avenue east to Havana Street, and then heading north would be one way to avoid the high volume on northbound I-225 Thursday morning.

You can refuse medical transport if you are not hurt.
How did he manage to do that? It’s a clean easy section of road.
Are those cement barriers called “Jersey barriers”?
