Jennifer Broome learns to snowboard in Vail.

Thinking of trying snowboarding?  As Jennifer found out the best advice is to take a lesson.  In this week’s Explore Colorado, Jennifer takes you inside her beginner snowboard lesson at Vail.

In a beginner lesson you learn the correct technique to ride.  Vail has a “no slam” policy in their snowboard lessons.  While falling is a part of learning, when you are working one-on-one with a pro, you learn how to fall so you don’t slam on the snow.  Vail also offers a Learn-Turn-Ride policy that guarantees you will be riding by the end of the third day or the fourth day is on them.

If you want to catch some of the best riders in the world, Vail is hosting the Burton U.S. Open Championships March 3rd-8th.  Olympians, including some medalists, are slated to compete in Vail in slopestyle and halfpipe.
