AURORA, Colo. -- A man was rushed to the hospital after a shooting at Smoky Hill Road and Fraser Way Sunday, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Police said the shooting occurred outside a liquor store at 15275 E Smoky Hill Rd., near a Starbucks.

APD tweeted that the call came in at 8:27 p.m.

Early in the investigation, police said they had no suspects in custody, but, in a tweet, added they were looking for two to three male suspects driving a light-colored sedan.

Police told FOX31 Denver the male victim was unresponsive when he was rushed to a nearby hospital.

A little before 10 p.m., FOX31 Denver's Mark Meredith tweeted that the victim was confirmed dead. He had been pronounced dead at the hospital.

Meredith said no description of the victim was provided Sunday evening.

After interviewing witnesses, APD spokesman Frank Fania said investigators were able to identify a possible suspect vehicle in the case.

The vehicle was found and impounded Monday morning, said Fania.

He added that police will continue to interview witnesses in the hopes to unearth more leads to the identify of the suspect and occupants of the vehicle.

The only suspect description available as of Monday morning was that the individual is a black male in his late teens or early 20s, said Fania.
