BOULDER, Colo. -- After raising $10,000 on the behalf of a Layfayette man who went missing in January, friends and family have also organized a search party for him.
Nathanial Tallman went missing on Jan. 23. He was last seen leaving his home in Lafayette.
His friends and family have raised $10,000 towards reward money for information surrounding the his disappearance or current location of him or his vehicle, said friend Stefan Dorwart.
Nathaniel's friends and family have also created a Facebook donation page to continue to collect funds on his behalf.
A post on Friday announced that a search party was being organized for Saturday.
The post said they would gather at the PDQ Gas Station in Boulder and, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., search Foothills Parkway, S. Boulder Road and the surrounding areas for leads on Nathaniel's whereabouts.
“It’s the most horrible thing you could ever imagine,” Kevin Tallman, Nathaniel’s father told FOX31 Denver. “The good news is that we don’t have any bad news that he won’t be with us anymore. So we’re hoping and praying that people will help and find our son.”
"We have tried every jail, police department, hospital,” said Zalyn Lee, Nathaniel’s friend. “I’ve tried towing companies. We’ve tried every possible avenue to figure out even where his car might be. We’ve turned up nothing.”
Nathaniel’s mother said her son’s disappearance was totally out of character and that they usually spoke half a dozen times a day.
Police find the car of missing Lafayette man Nathaniel Tallman's
Police did make some advances in the investigation when they found Nathaniel Tallman's car Thursday.
They renewed calls for the public to send them tips if they recognize the vehicle.
Thursday police got a tip from someone who had seen a missing persons flyer about Tallman and recognized his car in the area of Foothills Highway and South Boulder Road, said Cmdr. Brian Rosipajla of the Lafayette Police Department.
Officers with the help of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation impounded the vehicle for evidence, Rosipajla said.
Police are now asking for members of the public who may have seen Tallman's black 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart, 4 door, with dark tinted windows, in the area to contact the Lafayette police. Send tips to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 303-604-8014.AlertMe
