Community holds prayer vigil after teen suicides in Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. -- A community is heartbroken over four recent teen suicides.

Authorities say the suicides are in no way related to each other, but they're something that the community as a whole trying to cope with.

They held a prayer vigil to keep their strength, and ability to help prevent this pain from happening to others.

    I feel for these kids and am heartbroken for their families. But, as to the prayer vigil . . . perhaps the time would be better spent figuring out why this is happening and trying to prevent such things rather than petitioning some mythological sky God just to make ones’ self feel better – as if such such petitioning ever actually accomplishes anything.
