LONE TREE, Colo. — A man robbed a Lone Tree shoe store at gunpoint Monday.

According to an alert sent from Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, the male suspect entered a DSW shoe store in Lone Tree at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Monday.

The suspect was in the store for about 80 minutes before he pulled a gun on an employee and stated, “oh by the way, this is a robbery,” said authorities. He then fled the store, and was not seen leaving in a vehicle.

The suspect was described as a black male, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot, having facial hair and in his late 20s. He wore a blue sweater, black jeans and white converse shoes.

In an effort to quickly locate the suspect, Metro Denver Crime Stoppers posted a crime alert on its Facebook page.

Individuals submitting tips can remain anonymous and earn up to a $2,000 cash reward.
