Kraft Velveeta cheeseburger mac product recalled nationwide
Truitt Brothers Inc., a Kentucky-based firm, issued a recall on approximately 1.77 million pounds of shelf-stable pasta and ground beef product Sunday, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
In an online release, the FSIS cited the recalled product as the nine-ounce microwaveable container of Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles – Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac, a macaroni and cheese product.
The recall was issued because of misbranding and undeclared allergens, including hydrolyzed soy protein and dried soy sauce, said the FSIS.
The recalled products were produced between May 6, 2013 and Jan. 16, 2014. They were shipped nationwide to Kraft Food distribution centers as well as retailers.
No other Velveeta or Kraft products were included in this recall, said the FSIS.
