Mayor Hancock bets Boston mayor over championship game

DENVER — Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and Boston’s Mayor Martin Walsh have made a friendly bet over the AFC Championship game Sunday.

They agreed that the losing mayor will have to wear will wear the opposing team’s jersey and accompanying cap or scarf during part of a National Conference of Mayors meeting in Washington, D.C., next week.

Hancock is also wagering a sampling of Denver green chile and raising the stakes by also offering a hoodie, ball cap and skis handmade by Denver’s locally grown Icelantic Skis, said Press Secretary Amber Miller.

Boston’s mayor has not yet announced what he will give Hancock if the Broncos win.
