Hit-and-run driver collided with a Denver fire truck and Havana and Exposition

DENVER — The driver of an SUV crashed into a Denver fire truck and then fled the scene late Wednesday afternoon according to Denver Police.

The driver was in a Hummer H2. The collision happened at Havana Street and E. Exposition Ave.

The vehicle lost its front wheel and axle at the crash scene, but the driver took off anyway. Police stopped him at Fulton Street and E. Kentucky Avenue, about a mile away from the crash. They took the driver into custody at that time.

Investigators told FOX31 Denver’s Daryl Orr that drugs or alcohol are suspected in this incident.

No firefighters were hurt.
