THORNTON, Colo. — A 17-year-old will be charged as an adult in the stabbing death of an 18-year-old earlier this month.
A first-degree murder charge was filed Thursday against Matthew Trujillo in the stabbing death of Anthony Benavidez on Jan. 4, said Sue Lindsay of the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Thornton police said the two had been in a fight at a home in the 4200 block of 100th Avenue.
Officers were called to the home around 1:45 a.m., said Thornton Police Sgt. Matt Kandt.
No other details about the incident have been released.
A preliminary hearing has been set for Trujillo on Jan. 21.

No surprise here. He will most likely stay in and out of prison his whole life. pos. It has to be a cultural thing. We need to close our borders and deport the lot. Amnesty is a joke.
