COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Police are investigating a case of animal cruelty in Commerce City.

Police were called to a townhome in the 6000 block of Jasmine Court Wednesday morning on a report of several animals that were dead inside the home.

They found 12 animals there and ten of them were dead.

The animals included cats, dogs and rodents.

A neighbor told FOX31 Denver News that she noticed a cat from that home that came to her door and always seemed to be in need of food.

Investigators say the person who lives at the home is cooperating in the case.
