Hillman, left, may face jail time.

DENVER — Denver Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman has had his share of struggles on the field this season, and now it appears he may be facing a fair share of issues away from the field, as well.

According to court records, Hillman is scheduled to appear in an Arapahoe County court next week to face a pair of charges, driving while under restraint and driving with expired license plates.

The driving under restraint citation is a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail.

Hillman was issued both citations on Nov. 23.

It was not immediately clear why Hillman’s license had been placed under restraint. He is expected to miss at least one practice this week, as he’s scheduled for a court arraignment on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 10:30 a.m.

The Broncos will take part in their first playoff game of the postseason on the proceeding Sunday, Jan. 15.

Hillman’s second season with the Broncos was mostly a disappointing one. Despite opening the season as the team’s starting running back, Hillman logged more than 9 carries in just one game, and was benched for seven straight contests after fumbling twice in two weeks.

One of Hillman’s fumbles cost the Broncos a chance at a win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Harvey will be by his side and get him off then work with Martino getting him off punching his wife in the nose. If you are a millionaire, money talks.

He’s a professional football player and black, therefore he’s a victim. Team management will fix everything.

Come on, it’s a misdemeanor. It has nothing to do with who he is, who he knows, or how much money he has. Six months in jail for a misdemeanor? Maybe if you are a repeat offender or a threat to public safety. He will get a slap on the wrist because that is what’s appropriate here.
