LAKEWOOD, COlo. — A car packed with dental supplies was stolen Monday after the driver left it running in the parking lot of a Lakewood gas station.

The Comfort Dental vehicle was set to be used as part of a free dental care program on Tuesday, a company spokesperson said.

On Monday morning, the car’s driver left the vehicle parked in the lot of a gas station near 19th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard, with the engine running, while he ran into the building. When he emerged, the car was gone.

The car was found abandoned in Commerce City later Monday, Comfort Dental said. Police were examining the car for fingerprints. It was not immediately known if the dental supplies were still in the car.
