DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. -- The Douglas County School District is under scrutiny after a part of its emergency notification failed immediately following the shooting at Arapahoe High School Friday.

An email alert that all Douglas County Schools went on lock out status after the shooting did not reach parents and other subscribers until Friday evening, several hours after the emergency was over.

The school district is investigating how that happened.

It intends to have the problem fixed before students return from winter break.
