DENVER — A vehicle headed eastbound on Interstate 70 crashed into Clear Creek Saturday evening, diverting traffic in that direction.

All traffic was being directed off the freeway and down a frontage road, the Colorado Department of Transportation said.

The closure was lifted shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Medics and a tow truck were on the scene near Empire as of 5 p.m., the Colorado State Patrol said.

At least one person appeared to be injured.
