Five hurt as car tears into apartment building

DENVER — Five people were injured Sunday when a car tore through the wall of an apartment building, the Denver Fire Department reported.

A vehicle involved in a traffic accident about 3 a.m. crashed into a five-story building at 872 Park Ave. West, DFD said. Five people were hospitalized, one with serious injuries.

The seriously injured person had to be extricated from the car.

Structural engineers inspected the building before allowing residents to return home, DFD said.
