GOLDEN, Colo. — The driver of a truck lost control on the icy roads in Golden Friday morning, slamming into a power line. It caused both outages and road closures in the area.

Police told FOX31 Denver Pinpoint Weather Tracker Daryl Orr that the driver lost control of his truck near the intersection of 48th Lane and Easley Road sometime before 7:15 a.m., and slid into a nearby power pole.

The collision snapped the pole in half, leading to power outages for some residents in the area. It also necessitated the closing of Easley Road between 48th Lane and 50th Avenue so that repairs could take place.

Crews expected those repairs to take between two and four hours to complete, and said the driver was not injured in the accident.
