WESTMINSTER, Colo. -- More than a hundred people crowded a Westminster street corner Friday night to remember a fallen little girl by the name of Mia.

The 19-month-old was shot and killed Monday morning, allegedly, by her father, in an apartment, at 70th and Stuart.

Twenty-two-year-old Merrick McKoy remains in the hospital.  Westminster police believe McKoy shot the little girl, and then turned the gun on himself.

Mia's mother says she woke up Monday morning, finding McKoy standing over her.  The two squabbled, she said, before she ran out and called police.  When authorities arrived, they say they heard a gunshot coming from the apartment.  When they went inside, they found the two victims.  A restraining order had previously been filed against McKoy.

A family member says Mia would have been 2 years old in April.
