NORTHGLENN, Colo. -- Puppies-n-Stuff store owner Sandy McDonald says when three people stole $1900 in puppies last Thursday, the tips came quickly. Someone familiar with the investigation says one person has been arrested in the case.

One of those tips came from a woman who bought a Maltese puppy off Craigslist. The woman saw the news and called police after realizing her furry friend may be stolen property.

“It's wonderful to know where that one is,” said McDonald.

McDonald says the family returned the Maltese to her sister for a short while, but then realized there was too much history to say goodbye.

“The family purchased it,” said McDonald. “They really are in love with the puppy so we gave them a greatly discounted price.”

McDonald says police have asked her to not to discuss details about their investigation into the thefts of the other two other dogs, but she is confident it won't be long before all involved are safely behind bars.
