Police investigate whether 2 Denver shootings are related

DENVER — Police in Denver are investigating two separate shootings on Morrison Road early Saturday morning that injured two people.

The first shooting happened just after 2 a.m. in the 5000 block of West Morrison Road, and the second occurred just minutes later at Morrison and Meade Street, according to police.

Two victims were shot in the first shooting near West Morrison Road, but they do not have life-threatening injuries, according to Denver Police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez.

Officers arrested a suspect at the second shooting near Morrison and Meade Street. Police say they are not sure whether the two shootings are connected, but that detectives continue to investigate both incidents.

The names of the victims and the suspect in custody have not been released. Denver Police are still searching for suspects in the first shooting.
