ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — Police surrounded a house near 53rd Avenue and Lowell Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.

The situation ended peacefully Wednesday evening and police cleared the scene.

The heavy police and SWAT team presence shut down the neighborhood and some people in the area were out of their homes for a while.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office did not provide details about what exactly was happening but the intense police activity was obvious in video from SkyFOX late Wednesday afternoon.

Some witnesses let us know the police activity had been taking place for a few hours.

Many officers were outside the home with guns drawn. Numerous police vehicles and large apparatus crowded the street.
